| A lot of people ask us : “Why do you worship Elohim at the New Moon & the Full Moon? Isn’t that what neo-pagans do?” The answer is: We worship at the New Moon & Full Moon because Elohim instituted set worship times including worship at the New Moon & Full Moon. Then we have a question we like to ask others: “Why do you worship Elohim at the Yule? Isn’t that what neo-pagans do? Furthermore, don’t you know that Elohim prohibits Yule/Christmas trees according to Jeremiah 10?” The answer by most people, usually accompanied by a lot of squirming, is that Jeremiah is in the OLD Testament (etc etc) or that the Yule Tree of December 21-23 is somehow a DIFFERENT tree than the Christmas Tree of December 25. Really? Come on now… And what about Ostara? Easter, which is really Ostara, is a non- christian spring fertility festival celebrating all things new & fertile in the Earth. The word “Easter” is never found in Scripture except once when it was slapped into the KJV. Have you ever wondered what eggs & bunnies have to do with the resurrection of Yeshua our Christ? Elohim never instituted Christmas or Easter or any other cultural holidays that we celebrate. Elohim only instituted seven (7) festivals found in the Old Testament. But just to show us that Yeshua was not opposed to cultural holidays, we see Yeshua celebrating Hanukkah (also known as The Feast of Dedication). The story of how Hanukkah came into being is recorded in the First Book of Maccabees in the Apocrypha. Not in the Old Testament, but the Apocrypha. Why would Yeshua follow something out of a Book that was removed by some of His own followers? Furthermore, why would Yeshua celebrate a cultural holiday? Something to think about. So we worship at the New Moon & Full Moon because Elohim said to do so. And some people choose to worship Christ through the non-Christian, cultural pagan, Earth-honoring Yule/Christmas season (even though Jeremiah 10…never mind). Most Believers are paganized christians. So what are we? Christianized pagans? And that is so wrong & so different from other Believers how? We stand by Colossians 2:16-23: Therefore do not let anyone judge you by what you eat or drink, or with regard to a religious festival, a New Moon celebration or a Sabbath day. These are a shadow of the things that were to come; the reality, however, is found in Christ. Do not let anyone who delights in false humility and the worship of angels disqualify you for the prize. Such a person goes into great detail about what he has seen, and his unspiritual mind puffs him up with idle notions. He has lost connection with the Head, from whom the whole body, supported and held together by its ligaments and sinews, grows as God causes it to grow. Since you died with Christ to the basic principles of this world, why, as though you still belonged to it, do you submit to its rules: "Do not handle! Do not taste! Do not touch!"? These are all destined to perish with use, because they are based on human commands and teachings. Such regulations indeed have an appearance of wisdom, with their self-imposed worship, their false humility and their harsh treatment of the body, but they lack any value in restraining sensual indulgence. Remember, all things were created by Elohim & all things were created “good”. Before anyone got around to labeling things “christian” or “pagan” or “whatever”, all of these things belonged to Elohim. And this may surprise some people, but God is not a christian. Christ is not a christian either. Think first before you pick apart someone else’s theology. Think first about the log in your own eye. Your religion may be more “pagan” than you care to admit. |
